Evacuations Ordered as Fire Burns Thousands of Acres

The Ruidoso Wildfire in southern New Mexico continues to burn unchecked, with no containment as of early Tuesday morning. The fire has now consumed over 13,921 acres and forced the evacuation of the Village of Ruidoso and surrounding areas.

Officials Issue Evacuation Orders

Authorities have ordered the immediate evacuation of residents in Ruidoso Downs, expanding the evacuation zone beyond the village itself. Residents are urged to leave immediately and follow evacuation orders.

Lincoln National Forest Burned

In addition to the Village of Ruidoso, the fire has also burned nearly 19,000 acres of the Lincoln National Forest. The fire was discovered on tribal land along the Rio Ruidoso near Ruidoso around 9 am Monday.

Western US Wildfires

The Ruidoso Wildfire is one of over 20 wildfires burning across the western United States, collectively scorching over 100,000 acres. Residents in affected areas are urged to stay informed and follow evacuation orders.
